Frog Spirit exists to promote healing. My services are Reflexology, Reiki, and as a Chartered Herbalist. I am also a psychic intuitive. We believe in healing and that a lot of being able to heal is that belief.
Alexa Pongracz is a Usui Reiki Master Teacher, and a Shamanic Healer. The Pacific Institute of Reflexology is one of the foremost institutes in Canada and Alexa has taken both basic Holistic Reflexology and also the Professional Reflexology. Alexa Pongracz, CH, received her Chartered Herbalist Diploma in April of 2009.
The name Frog Spirit comes from the personal belief that frogs are healing the earth. The design of the Frog was done by my husband Don Pongracz; who is a Haida Carver. There are many legends surrounding the frog. They have voices but their message for our world is barely heard. In South and North America and across the globe they are magical able to bring rain, or to hold it back. My husband is Haida and was working up by Namu. He took a canoe ride on the lake. On his way back the lake turned to a solid mass of frogs on the top. He was amazed and felt that something magical was happening. It was. His influence, stories, legends and personal spirit are also part of Frog Spirit and it is his art that has created the logo for the business and for the site.
How this journey started in the 1980's with my brother's death from malignant melanoma. The loss of my best friend, which he was, impacted me for years. I remember entering his house, the last time I saw him, and feeling the darkness. Even now I cry for his loss. That energy, that wanting to help, is part of Frog Spirit. The desperation, the frustration, the inability to effectively help, became the impetus to learn.
In 1996 I had breast cancer. It was like a boot in the stomach. I could barely concentrate. For example I would not buy new clothes as I thought it was a waste of money for my family.
I had support from friends and family. I had it appeared taken a break from the psychic side of myself and I needed to reacquaint myself. I went back to my practice of twice daily meditation. I reacquainted myself with prayer. I visualized the cancer cells disappearing and with the help of my allopathic Physician and a lot of nasty chemicals they did. (These were taken with prayer and meditations, the after affect of the chemicals which burn the blood is something I am still healing. Always, take what action(s) your instinct says are needed)
My Friend Henry, a respected Cree Elder and Medicine Person, did a pipe for me and that also I believe helped in my healing.
Throughout my "chemo" I clung to a small Haida frog. It was made for me by my husband and it came with me for every treatment. Today it sits in a place of honor in my home.
When you have to deal with a crisis that is life or death something inside you changes. You become aware of life, aware of the shell, and aware of the magical part of your body that works on your behalf. Frog Spirit offers a wellness approach that looks at the body, mind and spirit of the individual.
